What happens to my donation?

EVERY PENNY RAISED GOES DIRECTLY TO THE CHILDREN.
Being a registered charity, BASIK is now able to accept donations which go directly to our bank account at the Ilkley branch of Yorkshire Bank, this will therefore be the first place your money will visit.
Our current project is with a rural village school in the Kimbunga region near Mombasa, Kilimani Primary. The school is in the process of being transformed from a mud hut to a functional, permanent structure. The headteacher, Julius Nzai, takes children who are too poor to afford the transport to state school or to buy the necessary uniform. Several of the children are orphans. Your money will be sent directly to this school where it will be used to make a positive and crucial difference to the children who are in need of a decent education. We have already been able to build three classrooms with the money raised to date, which has meant that the headteacher has been able to take on an extra member of staff and more children. Of course this is only the beginning, our plans for the future our highlighted in the "What we're all about" page.
Thanks once again,
BASIK
